Adam Ezra, Black Mountain Symphony, and Acoustic Trauma at the Putnam Den (9:00 PM)
Putnam Den, 63A Putnam Street Saratoga Springs, NY
The Adam Ezra Group (AEG) is not just a band; they are a force to be reckoned with musically, personally and socially. Selling records and tickets is important to AEG, but they are committed to changing the world with their songs and their actions along the way. Ezra and his band are activists and community leaders as much as they are musicians and songwriters. Ezra has spent time living out of a van, farming in Canada, volunteering for the relief effort in Kosovo, and practicing environmental geography in South Africa. Whether as a kitchen hand or carpenter, teacher, athlete, or traveler, Ezra crams it all into the music, always challenging our perspective and often teetering somewhere between the ballsy rocker and sensitive poet. Through their non profit organization, RallySound, AEG helps people organize live music events that inspire communities and encourage grassroots activism.

Black Mountain Symphony showcases an eclectic range of influences, blended together to create their own special sound. From baroque classical violin and haunting folk-tinged ballads to funk-rock drums and hard-hitting dance numbers, the five piece band sprinkles their live sets with hints of everything from classical music to bits of Motown, blues and jazz.

Welcome to the original sound of Acoustic Trauma. Try to imagine the crisp sound of an acoustic guitar accompanied by a powerful rhythm section. Now add the variables of massive experimentation along with mysterious lyrics and mood-enhancing visual effects. Following the example of the "classic rock" genre, Acoustic Trauma aims to provide a complete entertainment experience for their audience.

We bring you Michigan's Motown-bluegrass outfit Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys (NPR Top 12 of 2015); Troy singer-songwriter Sean Rowe with his band ("you can safely add Sean Rowe to the top tier of performing solo singer-songwriters that includes Shawn Colvin, Vance Gilbert, Greg Brown, and Richard Thompson." Seth Rogovoy); traditional southern mountain balladeers Anna & Elizabeth (featured in 2015 on Huffington Post, No Depression, and NPR Musics Tiny Desk Concert series); and we reprise last year's anniversary concert one-man-band sensation The Suitcase Junket (NPR's Favorite Sessions of 2015).

Rich Ortiz at Gaffney's (9:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
Gaffney's Restaurant, 16 Caroline St. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
Rich Ortiz's style is truly his own and his music is his soul. Ortiz, never a wallflower, believes he is the product of his family's cultural diversity and strengths. Since the age of seventeen he's focused all of his talents and time on his acoustic solo act, if you can call it that. Rich plays guitar, harmonica, and peddle bass (with his feet), and he turns heads with his vocals! He has opened shows for CHICAGO,REO Speedwagon,STYX, Ted Nugent, Ludacris, Hoobastank,KC and the sunshine band, Jeffrey Gaines, Ryan Montbleau Band, The Wood Brothers,Robert Randolph and the family band, Tea Leaf Green,Zach Deputy, Kracker, Merl Saunders, Melvin Seals, Jim Weider and the Drifters.

Inspired by artists like Jim Croce, James Taylor, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Willie Nelson, he says "I feel I have to change every gig around in order to grow as a musician." He plays six and twelve string acoustic guitar and chooses not to cultivate a target audience. He thinks "ideally the feeling of people who leave the room or listen to your CD should be one of making someone's day. What comes out of your tongue says a lot about your soul."

GottaGetGon Family Folk Music Festival (9:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
Saratoga County Fairgounds, Ballston Spa, NY
A traditional, family friendly Folk Music Festival held annually at the Saratoga County NY Fairgrounds, Ballston Spa NY. The GottaGetGon festival is a public function of the Pickin' & Singin' Gatherin', a folk music club near Albany NY. We started it in 1970. The PSG's traditional refrain on Memorial Day Weekend is "Gotta Get Gone!" from the city and out to where music and friendship takes over for the weekend. It's a time to lean back, sit around, and be with friends and family, play some music, sing some songs, and listen to some of the best music around, day and night.

The GottaGetGon is an intimate family folk festival, put on by a small handful of volunteers, and designed for folks who believe that music is part of life. It is a place where grownups, teens, and children can be part of the experience of sharing music, time, and friendship. It's a special gather'n' where PSG invites a few select performers to join us for a weekend of fine music.

From Jon: In 1999, Ted MacKenzie (Drums), Mike Novakowski (Guitar), and I (Organ) got together for the first time as a trio. In the ensuing years the group has done a variety of gigs with local singers and horn players in the Albany/Saratoga area. We play a wide range of tunes, including compositions by Theolonius Monk, Wayne Shorter, Jimmy Smith (Of Course), and Jaco Pastorious. In the group, besides myself are two of the best musicians in the Northeast. Mike Novakowski is an incredible jazz guitarist who brings together some of the best parts of Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Herb Ellis, and Kenny Burrell. What can I say about Ted MacKenzie, except that he is one of the most knowledgable, passionate, and musical drummers with whom I have ever played.

Ragnar Relay Adirondacks (9:00 AM)
Saratoga Springs to Lake Placid
The 200-mile Ragnar Relay Adirondacks kicks off in Saratoga Springs where runners are immediately immersed by the beauty of upstate New York.

Teams of 12 (or 6) head north and experience views of Saratoga Lake, the Hudson River and simple countryside. At appropriately named Million Dollar Beach (Lake George) runners find a place to sleep (?), relax, swim, and admire the sunset with friends. Lit-up vans, costumes and a billion stars overhead come together to create an unforgettable night run that you can only experience at Ragnar. Special to this race, those who tackle the hardest leg on the course up Tongue Mountain will be rewarded with extra Ragnar bling.

On Saturday, the whisper of crisp air fills your lungs as you run through the golden light of Aspen trees and up the southern side of Lake Champlain. Your team will finish like champions at Lake Placid, the home of two Winter Olympic Games. Discover what it means to find your inner wild on Sept. 23-24. Your sore legs won't last, but your memories will.
